Do you have a pile of unwanted tech or business books at home? We’re trying an experiment this month, one that we may make permanent – a free-for-all book swap at the Beehive.
Bring your unwanted tech or business books to the hive, and feel free to peruse the books that have been donated so far. Take what you want! We’ll use the same model that The Book Thing uses – the maximum number of books you can take is one million. At the end of the month, we will donate all the leftovers to The Book Thing.
There are only two rules:
- Please, do not drop off antiques – make sure that what you leave with us has at least *some* potential technical or business relevance to others
- Do not take any of the Beehive permanent library books (these are the ones on the shelves that we keep in place for reference)
Stop by anytime, and look for the signs and boxes of books. Thanks to the GBTC and Vigilant Medical for the first batches of donated books (the GBTC has donated multiple copies of a few books, including “Crush It!” by Gary Vaynerchuk, and “The Dip” by Seth Godin. Please consider taking a few copies of each of these to give to friends and colleagues).
Remember to sign the sheet to let us know how many books you’ve dropped off, and how many you’ve taken! And let us know what you think of this experiment.
Special thanks to Jonathan Julian and Kate Bladow for setting this up and hauling away the leftovers at the end of the month!
